Frozen Huddersfield Lake sees Ice Skaters for 1st time in over 100 years
Ice skaters took to Greenhead Park’s frozen lake for what could have been the first time since 1889.
The ornamental lake at Huddersfield’s central park froze over during an extended cold snap in which temperatures remained below freezing for two weeks.
Skaters dug out their blades and took to the thick ice yesterday (Saturday) to perform jumps, pirouettes and other skilled moves.
Some skaters even brought sticks and a puck for an impromptu game of ice hockey.
