Figure skaters from all across the province gathered in Morden for the Skate Canada Manitoba Sectional Figure Skating Championship.

Tasha Roberts, President of the Morden Figure Skating Club says “we had over 70 athletes from across the province coming to compete at this, and they go on to Skate Canada Challenge in Edmonton later this month.”

If they are successful in Edmonton, skaters could continue at Nationals in St. John’s, NB. Roberts says this weekend was the “first step in the process of going up the ladder.”

The Morden Figure Skating Club had 11 members compete over the weekend. A handful of them made it to the podium, where others managed to succeed in beating their previous top scores.
